# Memory

The AI has extended memory — memory that's stored permanently. This is mainly for important details for the AI. For example, it might remember that it needs to always greet you

Memory is stored as plain text and must not exceed 1000 characters. Memory cannot be edited manually — only the AI can change it

But if you happen to run out of memory space, or the AI remembered something it shouldn't have, and you need to clear it, run the /settings command. After the message is sent, find "What the AI remembers about you" and find the "Clear" button

Click it. After clicking, the message should change, and there will be nothing written there
